Welcome to Vintage Motors of Lyons

Front of the shop in Lyons

We sell, consign, purchase, and locate cars of interest for folks that appreciate them. We  always carry an eclectic selection of classics. Whether you are wanting that perfect  Sunday driver, a project car, or a higher end investment, we probably have a car that you will enjoy!

I have been passionate about cars since I was a kid in the '50's and '60's and bought my first car while in high school, which was a then 10 year old 1958 MGA. Since then I have enjoyed and nurtured many classics, both foreign and domestic. I decided to follow and share my passion for cars by creating a welcoming marketplace to not only sell cars, but open a place for everyone to come in and check out and talk cars, look at car books, magazines, posters, artwork, etc..

Our shop was originally built as a Texaco gas station in the 1940's and is conveniently located at the junction of the two highways leading to the Rocky Mountains just north west of Boulder. You won't miss us at the west end of Main Street.  Lyons is a fun, small town offering nationally known live music festivals and brewpub; shops and great fly fishing, kayaking, tubing, hiking, and mountain biking.  The South St. Vrain Canyon is among many great driving roads in the area.

The best part of this business has been all of the great people we meet. Thanks for visiting our site and I hope to meet you whenever you are in the area.

The TR4 became the successor to the TR3 in 1961. The car featured an all new body styling which was very well received as the TR4 became a very successful car for Triumph (40,253 cars produced 1961-1967). Many consider the TR4 to be the best looking of all Triumph sports cars combining the classic British sports car look and feel in a sleek body style. The Triumph Racing Green exterior combined with black top and interior, its wood dash and wire wheels make this particular TR4 especially attractive.

TR4s also featured roll up windows as opposed to the removable side curtains used on the TR3s; these combined with the first ever through dash ventilation vents in a British sports car, greatly improved occupant comfort. Other improvements included a wider track front and rear, slightly larger engine displacement, full synchromesh all four forward gears and rack and pinon steering.

In 1965, the TR4A with a redesigned chassis and Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) superseded the TR4. Apart from the rear suspension, which used trailing arms, and a few small styling refinements. the two models appear virtually identical.
