Welcome to Vintage Motors of Lyons

Front of the shop in Lyons

We sell, consign, purchase, and locate cars of interest for folks that appreciate them. We  always carry an eclectic selection of classics. Whether you are wanting that perfect  Sunday driver, a project car, or a higher end investment, we probably have a car that you will enjoy!

I have been passionate about cars since I was a kid in the '50's and '60's and bought my first car while in high school, which was a then 10 year old 1958 MGA. Since then I have enjoyed and nurtured many classics, both foreign and domestic. I decided to follow and share my passion for cars by creating a welcoming marketplace to not only sell cars, but open a place for everyone to come in and check out and talk cars, look at car books, magazines, posters, artwork, etc..

Our shop was originally built as a Texaco gas station in the 1940's and is conveniently located at the junction of the two highways leading to the Rocky Mountains just north west of Boulder. You won't miss us at the west end of Main Street.  Lyons is a fun, small town offering nationally known live music festivals and brewpub; shops and great fly fishing, kayaking, tubing, hiking, and mountain biking.  The South St. Vrain Canyon is among many great driving roads in the area.

The best part of this business has been all of the great people we meet. Thanks for visiting our site and I hope to meet you whenever you are in the area.

1968 MGB MkII Roadster – Sold

Just In, Very Nice ’68 MkII MGB For Sale. In Brooklands Green with black interior. Small chrome bumpered car; very straight and not rusty. Body on restoration with excellent body, interior, and mechanicals. This is a very good, running and driving MGB ready to enjoy now without issues. New brakes, clutch hydraulics, and tires. JUST SOLD – THANK YOU

MGB # GHN4U155592G. The prior owner brought this car to Colorado in 2011 after having purchased it in So. California in 1996 (CA Blue Plate is with car).

The interior of the car is in excellent condition. The dash, door panels, gauge bevels, steering wheel, seat upholstery (correct black with white piping) carpets, etc. were replaced with new as part of the restoration. All gauges, switches, lights, electrics work properly. A modern stereo is very neatly built into the center console panel with speakers surface mounted on the front kick panels (dash and panels not cut). There are two new 6v batteries with a pre-wired plug-in battery trickle charger; white vinyl convertible top and full black tonneau.

The body on restoration included stripping the car to bare metal; replacing the door skins and floor pans, and having the car painted. Bumpers, trims and side moldings were replaced with new and new rubber installed at doors and windows. The chrome and stainless are in excellent condition with a straight and dry (not rusty) body and chassis. The paint overall is very good with the exception of a few cracks in the finish between the windshield and the hood on the right side of the car and a few minor road blems (matching touch up paint from the re-paint is included with the car). All glass is good, windows and vents work properly with new rubber.

Luggage rack and dual tip exhaust.

Electronic ignition and spin off oil filter are practical improvements.

Very nice MGB logo’d air filter housing for K&N filters on twin SU’s. Engine fully rebuilt 7,300 miles ago. Hardened valve seats, new hoses, oil cooler lines, etc.. CA smog pump removed but with car along with other spares.

Undercarriage and chassis clean, not rusty.
