Welcome to Vintage Motors of Lyons

Front of the shop in Lyons

We sell, consign, purchase, and locate cars of interest for folks that appreciate them. We  always carry an eclectic selection of classics. Whether you are wanting that perfect  Sunday driver, a project car, or a higher end investment, we probably have a car that you will enjoy!

I have been passionate about cars since I was a kid in the '50's and '60's and bought my first car while in high school, which was a then 10 year old 1958 MGA. Since then I have enjoyed and nurtured many classics, both foreign and domestic. I decided to follow and share my passion for cars by creating a welcoming marketplace to not only sell cars, but open a place for everyone to come in and check out and talk cars, look at car books, magazines, posters, artwork, etc..

Our shop was originally built as a Texaco gas station in the 1940's and is conveniently located at the junction of the two highways leading to the Rocky Mountains just north west of Boulder. You won't miss us at the west end of Main Street.  Lyons is a fun, small town offering nationally known live music festivals and brewpub; shops and great fly fishing, kayaking, tubing, hiking, and mountain biking.  The South St. Vrain Canyon is among many great driving roads in the area.

The best part of this business has been all of the great people we meet. Thanks for visiting our site and I hope to meet you whenever you are in the area.

1973 Mercedes Benz 280 SE 4.5 – Sold

1973 Mercedes Benz 280 SE 4.5 – Sold

This Mercedes has been a local car since new. The owner of the Mercedes dealership in Boulder, CO purchased this W108 Mercedes for his wife on February 2, 1973 and it remained in the family for the next 24 years.

It is finished in its original paint color # 291 Dark Olive  which is complimented very nicely by its caramel brown interior. Straight body with very little to no rust.

This 280SE is just one of 13,527 produced with both the floor shift transmission and sunroof options.

Original purchase documents, all handbooks, etc. including the original data card and metal owner plate, the Becker Europa AM FM radio, tool kit in original MB logo’d wrap, jack and extensive service records are with the car.

It is equipped with a 4.5 litre M117 V8 engine and factory options include floor shift transmission, electric sunroof and front bumper grille guard. Four wheel disc brakes are standard.

The car has functioning AC, has been recently serviced and runs and drives very well.  Truly a classic, well maintained, flagship car. Very comfortable with good power and surprisingly good handling.
